Mk4 Tangaroa |

You
perhaps saw "Siramami" on the SBM brokerage pages. The hulls
were Tangaroa Mk4 to plans, sold and turned into a great
"refashioned" fixed beamed yacht by Richard McKilroy and now
being completed by new owners. Instead of the open deck slatting Richard
was doing, Tim & Jules are having a "bridgedeck" which
becomes part of the structure, providing sitting headroom, large double
bunk etc etc. A couple of guys are doing the work for them (they also
worked on the "BigCat" project) and I popped in to take a couple
of shots of the "pod" coming together... SB.

The
hardwood slatting was removed & a ply/foam/ply cockpit/lowered floor
went in in its place. The "shed", constructed of "Stirlingboard"
a waterproof particle board, is built onto the outsides of the hulls
giving a dry environment for the epoxy work to continue during the autumn
& winter. |
