A few more photo's
for you, most of the names are self explanatory, "leaving" was
our last sight of the west Indies, and our last land for 10 days as we
went north towards Bermuda.
The sailing around the W.Indies
is absolutely fantastic, with a F4 to 5 most days we were doing around 8
knots. We spent 3 weeks working and sailing in the islands, covering
Antigua, St. Christopher (St.Kitts), Nevis, Montserratt - the views of
the volcano were stunning - Guadeloupe and St Marteen.
On the way
up to Bermuda and for the crossing we did not have the weather we
expected. Up to Bermuda we had one tropical storm - not full strength
thankfully, but it was very strange as we sailed straight through the
eye of it and went from F7 from one side to becalmed in largish seas to
F7 on the other side in about 10 minutes, that was not a nice
night-watch for me! We had good winds on the first and last days out,
but for most of the rest of the way to Bermuda we had to engine, hence
the need to call in there and refuel.
Have a few more pics to
come from the crossing to the Azores where I had to get off.
The page may take a while
to download, I didn't want to reduce the size or quality any more than I
already had. SB
