Don't have any good pictures under sail yet but here she is lying at anchor. Windlass, battery bank, full water tanks and motors will add another ton from here! About 2 inches immersion per ton according to the plans.

As you could see from the other fotos I elected to make a pilothouse rather than a cloth bimini as suggested on the plan. Sailing in the tropics seems to be under a broiling sun interrupted by horizontal freezing rain squalls and it just takes the fun out of it for me. Also I wanted a rigid structure that I could climb onto to deal with the main as well as the only good place to mount solar panels and radar. My goal is to be 100% solar powered and to that end I will mount eight 75 watt panels. I'll let you know how it works out. The windows are 6mm safety glass and the outboard windows open out on (lashed, naturally) hinges. The stanchions actually come in quite handy for boarding as it's quite awkward getting over the tiller bar from the ramp.

Making up the rigging. Good stainless is not available here so I had to use galvanized wire for the rigging. Actually, after all the bad stainless parts I got from the U.S. and Europe I'm becoming a fan of galvanized. The loops around the masthead and deadeyes were made with a Flemish splice. Then covered in anhydrous lanolin and fully served with wire and marline.

A shot of the masthead before stepping. The finished splices were covered with sewn leather after being saturated with lanolin.
